Frequently Asked Questions
Are Stenger Family Office financial advisors fiduciaries?
Yes, all of our financial advisors are legally obligated to act in the best interest of clients. Our financial advisors do not earn commissions on mutual fund or annuity sales, but rather bill an advisory fee on the assets we manage for you.
What is the average fee for a financial advisor or wealth advisor?
Most Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms like Stenger Family Office charge an advisory fee based of the total assets directly managed by the financial advisor. Stenger Family Office starts our fees at 1% per year. The fee typically goes lower as the amount of assets increases.
Is it worth it to pay 1% to a financial advisor?
Depending on your needs, complexity, and ability, it can be very important to work with a financial advisor who will put your interests first. A financial advisor can help you avoid costly mistakes and save money on taxes over time. At Stenger Family Office, we believe we deliver substantial value that exceeds the cost of working with our firm.
What is a family office or multi-family office?
Single or multi-family offices provide additional services to clients rather than just investment management or financial planning. Typically, tax and estate planning services are included alongside some additional concierge services depending on the family’s overall net worth. At Stenger Family Office, we have an entire team of financial advisors, accountants, and attorneys working together to guide your family.
What are average returns for your clients?
Depending on your customized financial plan, your Stenger financial advisor will create a portfolio that matches your goals. Some portfolios are more aggressive and therefore have the potential to produce higher returns. Other portfolios are managed more conservatively and therefore typically produce lower returns.
How much money should I have before working with a financial advisor?
Many large Wall Street firms require large minimums before taking on a new client. Stenger Family Office has a minimum account size of just $1,000 to help you get started before you have a larger portfolio.
